The Kingdom of Nalis

Once Upon a Time in a distant land called Nalis, the people worshiped the Goddess of Luck. They believed that through devotion, they would attract good fortune throughout their lives. Every newborn was taken to a sacred shrine to receive the Goddess's blessings, for it was a tradition that a person’s fate would be a balance of luck and misfortune. However, the twin princesses of the Nalis Kingdom were unique cases. Despite being twins, their destinies were drastically different.

The Twins: Isabella and Miranda

Princess Isabella, the elder twin, was incredibly lucky. Everything she touched turned to gold; she was beloved by all and admired for her incredible fortune. Meanwhile, her younger sister, Princess Miranda, was plagued by misfortune. No matter how cautious she was, disaster always found her. The difference in the sisters' fates led to unequal treatment. While Isabella was adored, Miranda was often avoided, as people feared that her bad luck might rub off on them.

Miranda's Anguish and the Curse

Unable to bear her constant misfortune, Miranda sought refuge in a new shrine to the Goddess of Luck. Overwhelmed by her feelings, she cried out in anger, questioning the fairness of her fate. “Why is fate so biased? Isabella gets so much luck, and I get nothing! If you’re going to be a Goddess, be good, or else give all the luck to someone else so that unlucky people like me won’t have to suffer discrimination anymore!”

The next day, something unprecedented happened—misfortune struck everyone in the kingdom, including Isabella. For the first time, Miranda felt that the world had finally balanced out. But her joy was short-lived. During a crucial diplomatic reception, a series of mishaps enraged the visiting dignitaries, bringing the kingdom to the brink of war. Realizing the gravity of her actions, Miranda sought help from the wise old witch who lived in a damp, musty cellar within the palace.

The Witch's Advice

The witch, already aware of the situation, informed Miranda that the Goddess of Luck had withdrawn all luck from the kingdom. Offended by Miranda’s outburst, the Goddess had cursed the land. The only way to lift the curse was to travel to the Land of Luck and seek out the Goddess herself. Just as the witch finished speaking, Isabella barged in, furious. “I know this is all your fault, Miranda! You have to fix this before we all suffer even more!”

A Journey to the Land of Luck

Despite their differences, the two sisters set off together on a perilous journey to the Land of Luck. Along the way, they encountered numerous challenges. Isabella’s natural luck allowed her to overcome obstacles effortlessly, while Miranda struggled at every turn. However, her constant battles with misfortune had made Miranda resilient and resourceful.

At one point, the sisters came across three doors, each leading to different paths. Isabella chose the right door with ease, but Miranda faced dangerous traps behind the other two. Her experiences, however, had taught her to dodge arrows and avoid flames. Even when she was stung by bees behind the last door, she didn’t give up, proving that luck wasn’t everything.

The Ominous Maze

The sisters eventually found themselves in a dark and ominous maze where Isabella’s luck seemed to run out. For the first time, Isabella was lost and frightened. “It seems your luck won’t work here,” Miranda remarked. Isabella, still confident, dismissed her sister’s comment but soon found herself stuck in a dead end. Miranda, however, had a plan. She convinced Isabella to let her climb onto her shoulders to get a better view. Once on top of the wall, they could easily see the right path.

As they made their way out, the maze began to collapse. Isabella lost her balance, but Miranda managed to catch her just in time. The sisters helped each other escape the crumbling walls, finally realizing that they needed to work together to survive.
